New location marks first of four planned branch openings over next 18 months. Underscores the bank’s commitment to local communities. Two local charities to each get $10,000 grants.
Needham, MA, [May 11, 2026] — Needham Bank today announced the opening of its new Allston branch at 301 Guest Street at Allston Yards, expanding the bank’s Boston footprint with a full-service location designed to serve residents, students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and businesses. The bank celebrated the new branch, bringing together Needham Bank leaders and local community stakeholders for a ribbon-cutting.
The Allston branch is the first of four new Needham Bank locations expected to open over the next 18 months, reflecting the bank’s continued growth strategy and its commitment to expanding with purpose into communities where relationship-driven banking and local decision-making matter.
“Opening our new branch in Allston is about much more than growth — it is about investing in a dynamic Boston neighborhood and bringing Needham Bank’s relationship-based approach to banking to a community full of energy, innovation and opportunity,” said Joseph P. Campanelli, Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer of Needham Bank. “We are excited to serve Allston’s residents, businesses, students and entrepreneurs with the personal attention, local expertise and responsive decision-making that define our bank.”
The new branch is the latest retail component of the Allston Yards mixed-use development and will offer modern, full-service banking solutions backed by the personalized service and financial expertise that have long distinguished the Needham Bank. The location is intended to provide convenient, accessible banking for a broad and diverse customer base, including individuals and families, neighborhood businesses, and emerging professionals seeking a more responsive banking relationship.
The branch will be led by Alejandra Vasquez and Anila Bylyshi, two experienced banking professionals with strong backgrounds in customer service, branch operations, team leadership and relationship management.
As part of its introduction to the neighborhood, Needham Bank is also proud to support the Allston community through $10,000 donations to two Allston-based charitable organizations: the Allston Brighton Community Development Corporation and the 3 Point Foundation.
“Allston is a vibrant, fast-moving neighborhood with a strong sense of identity, and we are excited to become part of it,” said Alejandra Vasquez, Branch Manager, Needham Bank. “These grants reinforce the bank’s longstanding belief that community banking should begin with visible local investment. We expect to build many lasting relationships by delivering the kind of personal service, responsiveness, and community connection that people should expect from their bank.”
Since 1980, ABCDC has been working to support affordability in housing in the Allston-Brighton neighborhood. The non-profit community development corporation works with financing and development partners to create more affordable housing units, provide homebuyer education, and deliver comprehensive services for residents who live in ABCDC properties.
The 3 Point Foundation provides local students with year-round programming — including after-school programs, mentoring, and essential educational resources — to ensure access to the tools, guidance, and opportunities they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
“Our goal is to make this branch a trusted resource for the people and businesses of Allston,” said Anila Bylyshi, Assistant Branch Manager, Needham Bank. “This is a community filled with opportunity, diversity and entrepreneurial energy, and we are proud to open our doors here and help customers achieve their financial goals.”
The new Allston branch reflects Needham Bank’s broader mission to combine the capabilities of a modern financial institution with the responsiveness and accountability of a local community bank. Known as the “Builder’s Bank,” Needham Bank has helped individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations build for the future since 1892.
