What does Needham Bank do with your personal information?

Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

What?

The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the product or service you have with us.  This information can include:

  • Social Security number and account balances
  • Transaction history and payment history
  • Credit history and credit scores

When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.

How?

All financial companies need to share customer’s personal information to run their everyday business.  In the section below, we list the reasons financial companies can share their customer’s personal information; the reasons Needham Bank chooses to share; and whether you can limit this sharing.

How does Needham Bank protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law.  These measures include computer safeguards and secured filed and buildings.

All of our operational and data processing systems are located in secure environments that are protected from unauthorized third parties.

How does Needham Bank collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • open an account or apply for a loan
  • pay your bills or use your credit or debit card
  • make a wire transfer

We also collection your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can't I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.  See below for your rights under state law.

Online/Mobile Privacy Information

As outlined in greater detail within our Consumer Online/Mobile Banking Disclosure, Needham Bank may use anonymous, aggregate information, which we collect and store, or which is collected and stored on our behalf by third party vendors, to conduct certain analytical research and help us to create new offerings and services for our customers. As we make additional offerings and online banking services available to you, some of which may rely on banking information maintained in your accounts, you will have the opportunity to participate in the services if you choose.  If you choose not to participate, you do not need to notify us. We may also use anonymous, aggregate information which we collect and store, or which is collected and stored on our behalf by third party vendors, to:

  1. conduct database marketing and marketing program execution activities;
  2. publish summary or aggregate results relating to metrics comprised of research data from time to time; and
  3. distribute or license such aggregate research data to third parties.

Additionally, automated technology may be used to tailor messages or advertisements that best reflect your interest and needs. This includes if Location Services are enabled while using the NB Mobile app, where location data may be collected and used to send targeted push notifications, in-app advertisements and alerts. Please note that if Location Services are enabled, location information will be collected in the background even the app is closed or not in use. You may disable the collection of location data at any time by disabling the Location Services for the NB Mobile app on your mobile device(s).
